Whew… it has been a while since I’ve sat down to write a blog post, but here we are again. Life has been busy, homeschool has been busy, and honestly, we’ve just been trying to keep all the plates spinning around here. Between me and his dad being back in school ourselves and teaching our son every day, sometimes the days fly by before we even realize it. But today? Today felt special enough to stop and write about.
Today’s homeschool lesson was all about money.
We talked about saving, investing, giving, and spending wisely. We created our three jars and talked about how money has a purpose and a job. We even talked about how people earn money and why it’s important to learn how to manage it while we’re young.
But one of my favorite parts of today had nothing to do with dollars at all. We talked about taking care of ourselves too. Brushing your teeth. Washing your face. Brushing your hair. Making your bed. Learning responsibility in the little things first. Because before we can manage money well, we need to learn how to care for what we already have, including ourselves.
And y’all… he got it.
Those little lightbulb moments keep happening more and more lately, and it is such a beautiful thing to witness as parents. Just like when we celebrated him moving from Math K to Math 1, today felt like another one of those moments where you realize your child is truly understanding something deeper.
Now listen… we’re gonna keep it real over here too. 😂
We’re excited about this new system, but we also know life happens. Sometimes parents forget. Sometimes routines get messy. Sometimes schedules get wild. But hopefully we stick with it, and hopefully these small lessons now turn into big habits later.
So far, so good. 💛
We also shared a little video from today’s lesson over on our TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook pages if you want to check it out. Watching him understand the concept in real time was honestly one of the sweetest moments.
Thank you for continuing to follow our journey, even during the quiet moments when I disappear from the blog for a while. We’re still here. We’re still learning. We’re still growing together.
And hopefully… we’re raising one financially wise little king along the way. 👑💰
