From Hours to Minutes: How My Son Mastered 6 Math Problems in a Row

Y’all… my baby did math today. And not just any math; SIX math problems, back-to-back, without counting sticks, without using his fingers, and without giving up.

Do you know how big this is?

This is history-making in our house!

He only semi-struggled with one of them and even then, he worked it out without help. I sat there holding my breath, keeping my face neutral, because sometimes he’ll glance at me to see if he’s “doing it right.” And I didn’t want to throw him off by jumping in too soon or by giving him the answer.

And y’all… HE GOT IT!

All six. Correct. In less than five minutes.

Do you understand what that means for us?

We used to spend hours working through just one math problem. Hours of frustration, tears, deep breaths, prayers, and trying again tomorrow.

But today? Today my boy was in his zone. He pushed through. He proved to himself that he could do it. He proved to me (and reminded me) that progress can be quiet until suddenly…it’s loud.

I’m so mad I didn’t catch it on camera, but I’m even more grateful I was fully present to see it with my own eyes. This moment is etched into my memory forever.

This is what “keep trying” looks like.

This is what “never give up” feels like.

This is what answered prayers look like in real life.

And I am so, so proud of him.

Overjoyed. Ecstatic. Floating on cloud nine.

This is the win we needed. The win that reminds us why we keep going.

And if we can do this… oh, we can do so much more.
