Why I Created Raising My Wired King

I never imagined I’d be here, writing a blog, homeschooling my son, and learning more about autism, advocacy, and myself than I ever thought possible.

But here I am. And if you’re reading this, I’m so glad you are.

The Heart Behind It All

My name is Tasha. I’m a retired Air Force veteran, now a full-time homeschooling mama (and wife) to my beautifully wired son.

He’s autistic. He’s brilliant. He’s Black. And he’s teaching me every single day how to slow down, listen more closely, and love more loudly.

We created our own rhythm because the traditional system wasn’t built with him in mind. So we broke the mold. We made room for joy, curiosity, movement, and meltdowns. For belly laughs and burnout. For growth in all the ways that matter.

Why This Blog Exists

Raising My Wired King isn’t just a name—it’s our mission.

I started this blog to document our journey and build community with families like ours; those raising neurodivergent children, especially Black children, in a world that doesn’t always make space for difference.

Here, you’ll find:
– Honest reflections from our homeschool life
– Sensory-friendly tools and resources we actually use
– Affirmations and encouragement for parents who feel unseen
– Content that centers love, faith, and Black neurodivergent joy

What You Can Expect

No perfection. No performative parenting. Just real life…told with heart.

Some days, we win! Other days, we start over! But every day, we lead with love.

Whether you’re here to find support, ideas, or simply a reminder that you’re not alone, I hope this space feels like home.

Let’s Build Something Beautiful Together

This isn’t just my story. It’s a movement. A love letter to our children, and the future we’re creating for them.

If that speaks to you—welcome! We’re just getting started.
